Spindle Cottage is surely one of the most unique holiday cottages in Wells, Somerset. A true labour of love, the 17th century cottage has been fully restored by your hosts Angela and Alban over the past 40 years and is full of unique character and charm. Alongside the more traditional fireplace, gazebo and conservatory, expect carvings, stained glass, magical gardens, and little wooden mushrooms sprouting from the furniture.

The unique character of Spindle Cottage has not gone unnoticed. The remarkable cottage, shepherd’s hut, gardens and playhouses have been featured on the BBC’s Gardeners’ World and Open Gardens, Channel 4’s Amazing Spaces and within the pages of The Times, Country Living and more.

The cottage and garden are like no other place, full of charm and quirkiness with many secret nooks and crannies to be discovered. It’s a home built with joy, love and laughter, a perfect place.

This cottage is what childhood dreams are made of. I was surprised that there wasn’t a cupboard that actually led to Narnia! A great place to stay while exploring Bath and Longleat.
